Security first

Skiing is fun, but safety always comes first.
In recent years, attention to ski and snowboard equipment has increased. It’s no coincidence that wearing a helmet while practicing snow sports (skiing and snowboarding) is essential to reduce the risk of head injuries in the event of falls or collisions.
The helmet: not just for children
Starting from the 2025/2026 winter season, Decree-Law No. 96 of June 30, 2025 came into force, aimed at protecting the health of both adults and children speeding down the slopes.
The reason is simple: the head is the most exposed and delicate part of the body during a fall. A helmet protects, absorbs impacts, and can truly make the difference between a minor scare and a serious injury.
Which sports are affected? Alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark, and sledding on groomed slopes and authorized facilities.
Comfort and safety go hand in hand
A helmet is worn more willingly when it is comfortable. That’s why it’s important to pair it with the right accessories. A good balaclava—hypoallergenic, breathable, and machine-washable—is essential. It helps keep the skin dry all day long without causing irritation.
The right solution under the helmet
On our website you’ll find the following balaclavas:
- Icefloe Baby (for children up to 6–7 years old)
- Icefloe (for children over 7 years old, teens, and adults)
They are hypoallergenic and breathable, designed to be worn under a helmet without adding bulk or causing discomfort.
Available for both adults and children, they are made with safe materials that are gentle on the skin.
